The fact is, that to do anything in the world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in and scramble through as well as we can.

In Cabinetmaking 1 this course is designed to provide a general knowledge of wood and its various applications. Both hand tools and machine tools are studied and used. The student develops his/her knowledge and ability to design and construct projects in woodworking. Students will be required to pay a class fee of $20, plus an additional fee for the cost of materials used in projects.

 

In Cabinetmaking 2 this course, the student continues his/her study of woods, finishing materials, furniture design, and the proper operation of machine tools and carpentry. The projects built are limited only by the student's individual ability and the equipment available in the shop. This is a course designed for students who have shown exceptional proficiency in preceding woodworking courses. All phases of fine cabinet work and furniture making will be introduced on a high level resulting in student selection of more difficult projects. Students will be required to pay a class fee of $20, plus an additional fee for the cost of materials used in projects. The amount of the additional fee depends on the project selected by the student.

 

In Cabinetmaking 3 the student advances his/her study of woods, finishing materials, furniture design, and the proper operation of machine tools and carpentry. Students will design their own projects. This is a course designed for students who have shown exceptional proficiency in preceding woodworking courses.
